PRIVACY POLICY (Processing of Personal Data) – DISCLAIMER – NOTES
___________________________________
Privacy Policy – Processing of Personal Data (Article 13 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003, the “Personal Data Protection Code”, and Regulation (EU) 2016/679, hereinafter the “GDPR”, as amended).
Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the “GDPR”) is intended to guarantee the privacy and security of every visitor’s personal data, consistent with what is set out in this Notice. This Notice should be read as a privacy notice under Article 13 of the Italian Privacy Code and Articles 13 and 14 of the GDPR.
1. Types of data processed
This website offers informational and, in some cases, interactive content. While browsing the site, information about the visitor may be collected in the following ways:
— Browsing data
The computer systems and software procedures used to run this website acquire, in the course of their normal operation, certain personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols. This category includes: IP addresses, browser type, operating system, domain name, the addresses of websites from which access was made, information about the pages visited within the site, access times, time spent on each page, internal navigation-path analysis, and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and computing environment.
— Other categories of data
This means any personal data provided by the visitor through the site — for example, by registering and/or accessing a members’ area and/or a service, and/or by taking part in an initiative launched in partnership with third parties, or by writing to a Purse & Co email address to request information.
2. Purposes of processing
To provide the goods and/or service requested by the user, manage contracts entered into by the user, carry out the related administrative, accounting, tax, and legal obligations, and handle requests submitted by the user. Processing carried out for these purposes is necessary to perform contractual obligations and does not require the data subject’s specific consent.
To understand your experience using our platforms, products, and services, and to ensure the correct functioning of the web pages and their content. Processing carried out for these purposes is based on the Data Controller’s legitimate interest.
To send you marketing communications about promotions and/or offers you may be eligible for, in the Data Controller’s interest. Processing carried out for these purposes is based on the user’s specific consent, except for marketing communications relating to products and/or services similar to those the user has already purchased and/or subscribed to, for which processing is based on the Data Controller’s legitimate interest.
To carry out profiling activities — that is, analysing and processing information relating to the user, their preferences, habits, consumption choices, and/or browsing experience. This is also done using technologies such as cookies (see section 13 of this Notice, “Cookie Policy”, for further information). Processing carried out for these purposes is based on the user’s specific consent, except for basic analysis of information relating to the user’s consumption preferences.
3. Data-sharing scope
With your consent, your data may be shared with third-party companies operating in the publishing sector and with companies operating in the following sectors with which partnership agreements may be concluded: social-networking and interactive platforms, consumer goods, distribution, financial, insurance, automotive, and services, as well as humanitarian and charitable organisations, and telecommunications, for commercial and/or promotional purposes.
4. Transfer of data outside the EU
Under Article 43 of the Italian Privacy Code and Article 44 of the GDPR, it may be necessary to transfer your personal data to third parties located in countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. In that case, appropriate safeguards are put in place (such as the execution of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission) with the receiving foreign company; these clauses guarantee a level of data protection equivalent to that required by European law.
5. Roles and responsibilities
Your personal data is processed by the operator of this website, VAT/Tax ID 12284571002, email info[at]purseandco.com, acting as Data Controller. More detailed information on the names of the Data Processors may be requested by emailing: info[at]purseandco.com.
6. How data is processed
Personal data is processed mainly using electronic tools and systems (databases, CRM platforms, etc.) for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data was collected, and in any case in accordance with the principles of lawfulness, fairness, non-excessiveness, and relevance set out in applicable privacy law.
7. Redirects to external sites
This website may use so-called social plug-ins. Social plug-ins are special tools that embed social-network functionality directly within the website (for example, Facebook’s “Like” button).
All social plug-ins on this site are marked with the logo of the relevant social-network platform (e.g. Facebook, Google, Twitter, LinkedIn).
When you visit a page on our site and interact with the plug-in (for example, by clicking “Like”) or choose to leave a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted by your browser directly to the social-network platform and stored by it. For information on the purposes, type, and methods of collecting, processing, using, and storing personal data by the social-network platform, as well as how to exercise your rights, please refer to the privacy policy adopted by the individual social network.
8. Links to/from third-party sites
This website may contain links to other websites, and other websites may link to this one.
The Data Controller disclaims any responsibility regarding any request for, or provision of, personal data to third-party sites, and regarding the management of authentication credentials provided by third parties.
9. Data retention
Please note that browsing-log data, where recorded, will be kept by the Data Controller for a period of 3 months. Data you provide will be processed for the entire duration of the contractual relationship between us and further retained only for the period required to fulfil legal obligations, unless it is necessary to retain it further to defend or exercise a legal right, or to comply with any further legal obligations or orders from the Authorities.
10. Data subjects’ rights
Individuals to whom the above personal data relates (“data subjects”) may exercise their rights in accordance with, and within the limits of, applicable privacy law.
With regard to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to request:
access: you may ask for confirmation of whether or not data concerning you is being processed, along with further clarification of the information in this Notice, and to receive the data itself, within reasonable limits;
rectification: you may ask us to correct or complete the data you have provided us or that we otherwise hold, where inaccurate;
erasure: you may ask for data we have collected or processed about you to be deleted, where it is no longer necessary for our purposes, where there are no outstanding disputes or claims, where you withdraw your consent or object to the processing, where the processing is unlawful, or where there is a legal obligation to delete it;
restriction: you may ask us to restrict the processing of your personal data where one of the conditions in Article 18 of the GDPR applies; in that case, your data will not be processed, other than for storage, without your consent, except as set out in paragraph 2 of that article;
objection: you may object at any time to the processing of your data based on our legitimate interest, unless we have legitimate grounds for the processing that override yours — for example, to exercise or defend a legal claim; your objection will always prevail over our legitimate interest in processing your data for marketing purposes;
portability: you may ask to receive your data, or have it transmitted to another data controller of your choosing, in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
In addition, under Article 7(3) of the GDPR, you may withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent given before its withdrawal. Finally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Supervisory Authority, which in Italy is the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali (the Italian Data Protection Authority).
To exercise these rights, report an issue, or ask for clarification about the processing of your personal data, you can email info[at]purseandco.com.
11. Right to be forgotten
Please note that this Notice concerns only the processing of personal data you have provided or will provide.
If, instead, you wish to exercise the right to be forgotten with respect to your personal data that may appear within articles, you can email privacy(at)purseandco.com.
12. Changes to this Notice
New sector regulations coming into force, as well as ongoing review and updates to the services offered to users, may make it necessary to change the methods and terms described in this Notice. This document may therefore change over time. We invite you to check this page periodically.
We will publish any changes to this Notice on this page and, where the changes are significant, we will notify you more prominently.
Previous versions of this Notice will, in any case, be archived so they remain available for consultation.
13. Cookie Policy
What are cookies?
Cookies are small packets of information sent by a web server (e.g. this site) to the user’s internet browser, automatically stored by the browser on the user’s computer, and automatically sent back to the server on each subsequent visit to the site. By default, almost all web browsers are set to accept cookies automatically.
Cookies are typically installed either:
directly by the owner and/or operator of the website (so-called first-party cookies); or
by parties unrelated to the website visited by the user (so-called third-party cookies). Unless stated otherwise, these cookies fall under the direct and exclusive responsibility of their own operator. Further information on privacy and their use can be found directly on the websites of the respective operators.
This website may use, including in combination, the following types of cookies, classified according to the guidance of the Italian Data Protection Authority and the opinions issued at European level by the Article 29 Working Party under the GDPR:
Session cookies, which are not stored persistently on the user’s computer and are deleted when the browser is closed; they are strictly limited to transmitting session identifiers needed to allow safe and efficient browsing of the site, avoiding the use of other techniques that could be harmful to the privacy of users’ browsing.
Persistent cookies, which remain stored on the computer’s hard drive until they expire or are deleted by the user/visitor. Persistent cookies allow visitors who access the site (or other users of the same computer) to be automatically recognised on each visit. Visitors can set their browser to accept/reject all cookies, or to show a notice each time a cookie is offered so they can decide whether to accept it. Users may, in any case, change the default configuration and disable cookies entirely by setting the highest level of protection.
Technical cookies, used for authentication, to enjoy multimedia content such as a Flash player, or to allow the user to choose a browsing language. In general, the user’s prior, informed consent is not required for these. This category also includes cookies used to statistically analyse visits/access to the site, provided they are used solely for statistical purposes and through aggregated data collection.
Non-technical cookies are all cookies used for profiling and marketing purposes. Their use on users’ devices is prohibited unless users have first been adequately informed and have given valid opt-in consent. These types of cookies can, in turn, be grouped according to their function:
Analytics: cookies used to collect and analyse statistical information about visits/access to the website. In some cases, when combined with other information such as login credentials for restricted areas (email address and password), these can be used to profile the user (personal habits, sites visited, content downloaded, types of interaction, etc.).
Widgets: this category includes graphical user-interface components in a program intended to make it easier for the user to interact with the program itself. Facebook, Google+, and Twitter cookies are examples of widgets.
Advertising: this category includes cookies used to serve advertising within a site. Google and Tradedoubler fall into this category.
Web beacons: this category includes fragments of code that let a website transfer or collect information by requesting a graphic image. Websites may use them for various purposes, such as analysing website usage, monitoring and reporting on advertising, and personalising advertising and content.
This site uses technical cookies, for which consent is not required, meaning they will be installed on your device — in particular, in your browser — or you will allow third parties to install certain cookies necessary to obtain, or allow our partners to obtain, statistical information in anonymous, aggregated form about your browsing on the pages of the site.
Specifically, this concerns cookies relating to the following statistical-analysis services:

Google Analytics
This site has enabled Google Analytics advertising features, specifically Google Analytics Demographics and Interests reports.
Enabling these advertising features allows Google Analytics to collect traffic data through cookies used for Google advertising and anonymous identifiers, in addition to data collected through a standard Google Analytics implementation. The pages of this site collect and use data from Google’s interest-based advertising or third-party audience data (e.g. age, gender, and interests) from Google Analytics, along with Google Analytics display-advertising features (e.g. remarketing, Google Analytics Demographics and Interests reports), solely for statistical and audience-analysis purposes. Data is collected and aggregated anonymously using proprietary or third-party software (e.g. Google Analytics). The pages of this site, and third-party providers including Google, use both first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and, where applicable, third-party cookies to inform, optimise, and serve ads based on users’ past visits.
You can opt out of Google Analytics for display advertising and customise Google Display Network ads in the following ways: – Using Ad Settings: https://adssettings.google.com/ – Through the currently available Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/
How to disable cookies through your browser settings
If you wish, you can also manage cookies directly through your browser settings. However, deleting cookies from your browser may remove the preferences you have set for this site, so we recommend visiting this page periodically to review your preferences.
